Robert Frost speculated about the world ending in fire or in ice. Which do you think is likely to end us all: meteorite, global warming, nuclear weapons, zombies, or the superflu?

None of the above. The correct answer would be velociraptors.

In other news, Good Omens fandom still fills me with warm fuzzies.

Scared

This morning I went to an interview for my study abroad program - they interview everyone who wants to do two programs in one year - and while I think I did well, the experience was rather terrifying.I think I've partly managed to convince even myself that I'm not going to be able to do this. In particular, I'm worried about Sea Semester. I know it will be challenging, to say the least, and I'd like to think that I'll be up to it, but when a person tries to do something that far outside her comfort zone, it will either result in a mind-blowing, life-changing experience, or a traumatizing disaster. I would really really like to aim for life-changing experience. Needless to say, I'm a bit scared right now.

What's on your list of dealbreakers when it comes to romantic relationships?

-Bad hygiene.
-Pressure to have sex before I want to.
-Disrespect of my beliefs/pressure to accept partner's beliefs.
-Disrespect of my friends.
-Prejudice toward women, minorities, etc.
-Republican (just kidding).

Can it be spring now? I really wasn't in the mood for winter this year.

On the bright side, I like the feel of 2009 so far. Dunno why. Well, best wishes, everyone!

Purity Test

One of my friends on facebook posted this purity test and I thought it would but fun to take it on behalf of one of my favorite characters (I picked Grindelwald, of course) and see what their score would be. 2000 questions later (I kid you not), he ended up with a somewhat disappointing 66.40% purity. Maybe my canon for him is somewhat conservative, although I pretty much let my imagination run wild as to what he might have gotten up to at Durmstrang.

I'd be interested to see people try this on other characters (or the same character), but be warned - for the sake of your sanity, I only advise it if you're, say, baking something that takes an obscenely long time and have nothing else to do while you wait.

I'm passing this on.

Very important article.

(Ok, it isn't actually serious. But it kind of is. Anyway, read it.)

And the world exploded. With joy.

I sent in my absentee ballot a couple of weeks ago, so all I can do today is sit back (or rather rock back and forth in my chair) and wait. Thankfully, I don’t think there’s anyone on my friend list who’s eligible to vote and actually needs to be reminded to do so.

Tonight during play rehearsal we’re going to be pumping live coverage over the loudspeakers in the theatre which is going to be SO exciting and SO distracting. My brain is already mush. :o

If you live in the U.S. and will be using an electronic voting machine to cast your ballot, read the linked post before you go!

...I'm really happy for my nice paper absentee ballot - if I ever found out that some machine had made me vote for McCain by accident, I could never live with myself.

Well, that debate went as expected. Palin did say "for the Greater Good," though. Maybe I'll vote for her after all!

...No.

Congratulations Michael Phelps!

Really, China? Really?

I have more to say about this than that, but I have limited time and just wanted to post the story for now. It pretty much speaks for itself anyway.

I love the Fourth of July. The sound of exploding fireworks echos through the trees around my house and it sounds as though there's a battle going on. Or more accurately, a victory celebration in the aftermath of a battle, which is precisely what the Fourth is.

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Anniversary

God, I love spring (and summer) thunderstorms. There's one starting outside right now, and it's grey and windy and *gorgeous.*
